What to expect when you open a Celvaris vial
Two things surprise people opening filler-free reference material for the first time. Both are normal, and both are worth understanding before you reconstitute.
The powder looks like almost nothing
There are no bulking agents, no mannitol, no excipients. What sits in the base of the vial is the compound and nothing else, so the visible volume is far smaller than people expect — often a thin film or a small disc rather than a full-looking cake.
Many suppliers add mannitol precisely because it makes a vial look substantial. We don't. You are paying for active material, not volume. A vial that looks half-empty is the correct appearance for pure lyophilised peptide.
If the cake has shifted or broken up in transit, that is cosmetic and does not affect the material.
These vials are not under vacuum
Because the vials are sealed at atmospheric pressure under nitrogen rather than pulled to a vacuum, they will not draw solvent in on their own — and if you push solvent in without making room, pressure builds and liquid can escape past the stopper.
Withdraw an equal volume of air first. Draw out roughly the same volume of air as the solvent you intend to add, then introduce the solvent slowly, running it down the inside wall of the vial rather than jetting it onto the powder.
Mind the vial capacity. Our standard vials hold approximately 3 mL. Aim for around 2 mL of solvent, and treat 3 mL as an absolute ceiling. Adding more than the vial can physically hold will force liquid back out regardless of technique. Add in stages and stop at the first sign of back-pressure.
Verifying what you received
Every vial carries a batch identifier and a scannable code. Scanning it opens that batch's Batch Verification Report directly — HPLC purity with the chromatogram, mass-spectrometry identity confirmation, contaminant screening and moisture determination. No account, no request form.
If a code does not resolve, send us the batch ID and we will look into it.
Storage
Keep sealed vials refrigerated and protected from light. Amber glass limits UV exposure but does not eliminate it. Once reconstituted, storage and stability are governed by your own protocol and the solvent used.
